TOWN OF HANSEN MEETING MINUTES

 July 9, 2024

 

Board Members in Attendance:  Paul Goldberg, Pamela Martinson, Wayne Brock, Dan Madsen & Diane Kohls

Board Members Excused:  None

Others in Attendance:  Chris Ferkey, Dave Hamel, Bill Winch, and Josh Kapellusch

 

Call to Order:  Chairman, Paul Goldberg, called the meeting to order at 7:00 p.m.

 

Approval of Clerks Minutes:   The minutes from the June 11. 2024 meeting were read.  A motion was made by Wayne, seconded by Dan, to approve the minutes.  Motion carried.

 

Expenditures and Treasurer Reports:  A motion was made by Wayne, seconded by Dan, to approve the expenditures and Treasurer reports.  Motion carried. 

 

Correspondence:  Information was received about the ATC project.  TAC listening sessions scheduled from the Town’s Association.  Alliant called and they are doing work on County C, Birch and Hickory.  After All cleaned the porta potty.  The Bluff to Bluff race is on August 4.  Diane received a building permit from Dan and Sue Tritz for a new shed.

 

Road and Maintenance Concerns:  A resident on Pine Lane called because they did not want their ditch mowed.  Paul contacted JJ’s to have them omit that road.  They do want it cut the 2nd time.  Poplar and Maplewood road base is done.  Johnson Lane will be done this week.  Some signs need attention and some grading needs to be done.  Overlay will be done on North Road this week.  The bridge on Spruce will need to have the approach re-paved,  it should be less than $5000.  A motion was made by Wayne, seconded by Dan, to have the bridge approach re-paved.  Motion carried.

 

Building Maintenance:  Wayne contacted Mitch Holtz to have the building repairs made.  Mitch said that the roof is not leaking.  Water comes in the edge of the building, so no repair needs to be done on that.

 

Board Wages:  Chris Ferkey would like to see the wages for the positions in the area before a decision is made.

 

WTA Meeting Host Update:  The town is hosting the meeting at the Town of Wood town hall on July 19th.  Pam took care of the food, it is coming from the Pittsville grocery store.

 

Banking Update:  Associated Bank and Wood Trust did not have very good rates, so Pam or Diane will check with the other local banks and credit unions.

 

Fence Letter:  A notice to occupants on complaint of failure to build partition fence will be sent to Sankey’s via certified registered mail.

 

Pay current bills:  A motion was made by Wayne, seconded by Dan, to pay the current bills.  Motion carried. 

 

Old Business:  Diane sent a bill to Brian Brock for the culverts that he purchased.  We received payment for the insurance claim for the bridge.  Paul researched flag pole prices and they can range anywhere from $300 to $5000.  A motion was made by Wayne, seconded by Dan, to spend up to $1000 on a new flagpole.  Motion carried.

 

New Business:  None

Public Input:  Josh Kapellusch is in the area visiting family and decided to come to the meeting with his Grandpa.  He thanked the board for their service.

 

Next agenda items:  Board Wages and Banking Update

 

Next meeting date:  August 13, 2024 @ 6:00 p.m.

 

Adjournment:  A motion was made by Dan, seconded by Wayne, to adjourn the meeting.  Motion carried.  The meeting was adjourned by Chairman, Paul Goldberg, at 8:15 p.m.
